Instant Pot White Rice Recipe
Ingredient
- 3 cup jasmine rice
- 2 3/4 cups water
- 2 tbsp butter or oil
- 1 tsp salt (optional)
Instructions
- Rinse: rice thoroughly in a fine-mesh strainer until water runs completely clear drain
- Add: butter or oil to the Instant Pot inner pot first. Swirl to coat the bottom completely.
- Add: drained rice, then pour water gently over the top.
- Add: salt if using.
- Gently level: the surface with a spoon - do not stir.
- Secure: lid with valve set to "Sealing." Select "Pressure Cook" or "Manual"
- Cook: on high pressure for 1 minute
- Quick release: When cooking completes, quick release pressure release by then carefully turn valve to "Venting" to release pressure.
- Remove lid: fluff rice with a fork, and let rest 2-3 minutes before serving.
- Pot-in-Pot Method: For zero sticking, use a heat-safe bowl that fits in your Instant Pot. Add 1 cup water to the main pot, place trivet inside, put rice and cooking water in the bowl, and set on trivet. Same cooking time and pressure release.
